Ain’t Misbehavin: On Camera

With the increased usage of online conferencing and teaching, this workshop is designed to provide the foundational elements to meet these needs, with these 4 objectives.

You will learn:

  1. Strategies for commanding and maintaining your audience’s attention in cyberspace, with or without an audience
  2. The techniques needed to make engaging, industry-standard, self-taped auditions, instructional, introductory and interview videos.
  3. The common, self-sabotaging errors that get your videos rejected, and how to avoid them.
  4. The key to finding your best faces (angles) for the camera and the audience, and how to enhance these facets

This class is highly participatory, and students are expected to prepare according to the syllabus, be ontime, and complete all assignments as specified. Instruction occurs over a 1-week period with time for instructor’s feedback, student’s adjustment and resubmission of videos for final critique.

Course content: Videos, Facetime Q&A sessions, Group discussions, and Individualised time. Course syllabus will be sent after registration

Age Restriction: 10+ (provided that you can independently record your own video, and meet the language requirement)

Prerequisite: Basic – Intermediate English level

Equipment needed: Must have access to a good camera (for online interaction), be able to access online viewing sites (Zoom, Skype, Wechat, etc), and have a camera for recording your videos.

*NB This class does not teach you video recording and editing, that is another upcoming workshop
