Join the competition!! Strut your stuff!
It’s all about you!…..well, you and your team.
Audition date: June 2nd, 2018, 2pm (venue TBA)
Show date: June 23rd, 6:30pm – 10pm at 1001 Nights Restaurant, Sanlitun, Beijing
1. Only 5 skits will be selected for the show competition
2. Each casted actor will receive a 4 course meal, same as the audience members.
3. All actors will receive the red envelope tips from audience members (collected at end of show)
4. There will be a 1500RMB prize awarded for the 1st place of best skit (audience vote), and a 500RMB for the runner up
5. All casted actors will receive a Beijing Fringe Theatre tshirt with the show name and logo
6. There is a limited budget for props, so actors must finance their major items (costumes). We may be inclined to loan you if we have something you need.
7. On the night of the show, audience members will get the opportunity to challenge one or two actors in every skit. There will be a prize for the best audience actor (actors and audience will vote)
Sweet, right!? So you love it so far and want to know more. Great! Here is the scoop:
Competition rules:
Each skit,
1. Must have 2 or 3 persons (no monologues)
2. Must be between 10 – 12 minutes run time
3. Must integrate an audience member
4. Must include a song or dance.
5. Must be imitable (so that an audience member can challenge any actor)
6. Must not include anything violent; no fighting props
7. Contestants with an intermediate Chinese language skill are preferred (at least one person in any skit must be communicable in Chinese)
8. For the audition contestants can be in as many skits as they like, but must pay the entrance fee for each skit they are in.
9. All casted actors must sell at least 1 show ticket (we won’t be mad if you sell loads of ’em!)
Groovy! Now you are chomping at the bit, and wondering how to enter, so without further ado…….
How it all shakes down:
1. Register to enter, with a registration fee of 75rmb
2. Gather your team (or collaborate with some of our actors)
3. Create a skit
4. Perform it at the audition, June 2nd, from 2 – 6pm (venue TBA)
5. If approved, then you will be entered to perform on the show night, June 23rd, 6:30pm – 10pm
