8-WEEK ACTING PROGRAM

We are currently running 2 sessions for the Autumn 2017. Registration is closed for both classes, as they are both at capacity (10 students on Wednesday & 12 on Saturday)

COURSE COST:
Regular: 680RMB

This preliminary acting course focuses on stage acting, as opposed to film and camera. Elements of those two will be integrated, but not emphasised. Classes are progressive, and are designed to build skills that will culminate in a production that will be filmed at the end of every 8-week session. The next session, which begins in February 2018, will concentrate on acting for film.
The classes are all taught in English, and so a prerequisite for entry is to have at least an intermediate level of spoken English. No acting experience is necessary, only a desire to learn, and to be open to exploring the depths of oneself, to which this journey will take you.
90-miniute sessions are not long, therefore, in preparation, students will be provided material beforehand so that they come prepared to work and study the craft. It is critical that you are off-book when you are in class, as it allows more time to focus on learning, rather than on reading lines.
On the other hand, some material will be impromptu, as those lessons are designed that way, thus students will be trained in being able to pick up a piece of material and within 5 minutes, have it memorised and ready for performance.

Registration for these sessions will open December 3rd – 8th, but will close immediately after the first 10 (for Wednesday) and 12 (for Saturday) students’ payments have been received.

The second session in the series of our acting course focuses on acting for film, as opposed to stage acting. Elements of stage will be integrated, but not emphasised. This course will concentrate on scene acting and character sketches, and will build on the foundations taught in the first session. Though it is not required, it is a good idea to have an introduction to acting, or some experience before entering this course.
